I teach on various topics in physics, applied physics, and
astronomy at CSU San Marcos, one of 23 California State
University campuses, located in northern San Diego. My
research is focused on the dynamics of fluids and
magnetized plasmas, where I am interested in the transition
to turbulence along with applications of turbulent
transport to astrophysics and fusion energy. My research is
pursued in collaboration with other universities as well as
within the new Applied Hydrodynamics and Plasma Physics
Laboratory (AHPPL ) here at CSUSM.
You may find details about my background and current
activities by following the links to your left.
Wakes represent a richly
structured example of hydrodynamic physics at the air/sea
interface. Though a common sight in most decent-sized
bodies of water, they can reveal a subtle beauty when left
to evolve undisturbed.
