I am a physics professor at Cal State San Marcos, located in North County San Diego.
I teach classes and conduct physics education research.

Current projects include implementation and study of Ubiquitous Presenter, a digital lecturing system that enables spontaneity, interactivity, and archiving of lecture materials. Check out the screenshot below and look here for more info. Another project involves investigating the differences in physics majors at different stages of progress towards their degrees. More on that here.

Follow the links to the left for info on my current projects and classes, links to papers and talks, and my professional background.

Screenshot of 'inked' slide in Ubiquitous Presenter. Only the title and figure (before and after of ball hitting wall) were on the prepared slide; everything else was added in class. Acknowledgments to Randy Knight, the figure of the ball and wall was taken from his book, which we used in this class.
